Distance Covered:

Bit of a roadtrip was called for given NW forecast offers up mostly offshore locally. Met with Camber regulars Rich, Tim & Chris at cafe near Whitstable Windsurfing and was geeted by high tide and nukin winds.
A full english later and after some discussion and some outside advice, Sandwich Bay got the nod as the place to go ..... more driving !
Pegwell Bay en-route gave us a view of the distant Sandwich Bay and with shelter from the wind in Pegwell we were questioning the sense in the drive we'd just undertaken and were considering backtracking to Tankerton. Chris pulled out some peeping tom bino's and the view through the lens looked much more appetising, enough so that we continued ....
Bit of a fee to park as Sanwich Bay is part of a private estate ..... so before even getting there we'd invested heavily in fuel, food, and now parking too !
Wind looked 6.5m weather to me, though in fairness the windline was moving close to the shore as we discussed options. Before decisions had been made, Rob & Allesandro rocked up, closely followed by Sam & John .... and then Gary pitched up too.
There was a fella out on a 6.0m Tushy but he was a lightweight so wasn't sure what guide that'd be, until noticed he was getting progressively more and more overpowered.
Opted for my 5.6m Remedy and 3S97 as I'd not sailed here before and to be honest I wasn't convinced by all the F8-9 forecasts ..... besides, if it filled in, I could rig smaller kit ..... must be the racer in me rigging for the lulls !! Turned out good choice for me .... others on 4.5m - 6.0m at various times.
Nice to have a good session, without all the torrential rain we'd been promised ..... local knowledge paid off today as we scored cross-shore wind and sunshine, albeit port tack ....
Cheers boys, enjoyed that !!
